Go On! Get Your Hopes Up!

Let’s skip the competition and start working together, shall we?

Growing up I was always told somewhat indirectly and sometimes very directly, not to get my hopes up. Don’t get too excited Envy, you don’t want to set yourself up to get hurt. Which was such a sucky feeling, because I had to adjust my entire everything, just to be cool about something I wanted to be giddy about.  As though being excited about life and possibilities is offensive. I also learned growing up, that it is. Being excited about life is offensive to the exact people who tell you not to get your hopes up, because THEY don’t want to get THEIR feelings hurt. Reasons may vary.

We’ve already discussed at some point that people can only view you through the same lens they see themselves. WE tell people to chill about their feelings of joy, passion, happy and excitement with life when we’ve given up on our own joy, passion, happy and excitement for varying reasons. We protect our ego, by attempting to diminish others. We’ve all done it. We’ve judged someone to feel mighty in our tight shoes.  Most of us do this because we grew up under the assumption or the mis-perception that we exist to compete with each other.  For everything–food, money, education, jobs, resources, husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, houses, stuff, crap, etc., and what have you.
We’ve been taught that success means–in order for you to have what you want, somebody else has got to go without. Because there can only be one. We are taught that in order to be attractive, the person next to us has to be ugly. In order to be rich, the person next to us has to be poor. We are taught to fight over stale crumbs and wonder why loads of us haven’t figured out how to make more pies. This phenomena is called Impoverished Thinking, FYI, and it plagues people with mighty bank accounts as much as it does folk working with pocket lint currency. Impoverished Thinking has less to do with money as it does with mindset. I also believe that the set up for a life long impoverished thinker is this notion of not “getting our hopes up”.

This is how I look at things. We are all here to fulfill a divine destiny. We’re here to serve a purpose. There are things we’re here to do that no one else can do and the things  we want to do, naturally fall in line with the things we’re here for. Yes? What we “want” to do is much different than what we WANT to do because our soul aches for it. So. We don’t have to fight over crumbs or compete to the death when we recognize how abundant the universe is. When we begin to see that there is room for us all. When we share and give and encourage each other from a place that knows ANY and EVERY thing that we are designed to have, we WILL have. ANY and EVERY thing that we are not designed to have, we won’t have–no matter how much we fight over it. This frees us up to encourage each other, yes?It also frees us up to let our ego chill and to be supportive of those around us, even when we’re up for the same jobs, projects and/or in professional fields that give the perception of scarcity.

Scarcity is a mind wave. It’s also the cousin of Impoverished Thinking and in a polygamist relationship with fear, doubt, worry, lack and limitation. The universe is infinite, abundant and limitless. Best believe, if you are designed for something, you will have it. Even if a space has to be made for you. Your job is always to say yes! And then show up awesome. Which– requires you to get your hopes up! Getting your hopes up, prepares you for more good than you can even imagine. It requires you to believe that everything that happens is always for your greatest good. Getting your hopes up is also infectious. It gives those around you permission to get their hopes up too. It says that we are all in this together and that my opportunities create opportunities for those around me. It gives us the framework to share and give openly and freely, because when we live in abundance, we always have more to give. You only get to keep what you give away… so give like you mean it.

You are not here to compete for resources. You are here to create, unfold and BE more. Feel me? We’ll talk more about this throughout this month. When in doubt, ask yourself this question: Did you make yourself? If not, who made you? If you get it that something bigger than you wants nothing but awesome for you…      breath that in for a sec…

So. That’s what I learned this week. I do hope it helps something. Thank you for reading this (!!!) Remember always to #RuleYoSelf with L.O.V.E. Have a Happy Awesome Weekend! Love you madly!
