How to Have ALL the Answers. Seriously.

Oop.

Happy Friday Night Love and Light to you!

The whole concept behind Friday Night LOVE + Light and consequently, #SuperheroSchool is to persistently find our way as close to awesome as possible. It’s a little bit like staring into the sun. The concept itself hurts the eyes if it happens to be high noon and you’ve decidedly forgotten your sun shades. People have gone blind doing such things. Allegedly.

And yet, there are folk who daily stare directly into the sun (safely at sunrise and sunset when there are 0 UV rays–and for 10 sec evolutionary intervals) as a spiritual practice and their eyesight gets so dope they can see through you–without even looking at you too hard. Allegedly. As funny as this sounds, I swear I’m not making it up. Such things are called sun gazing and millions of people of a variety of faiths and spiritual practices do it.  (–learn more here )

But that’s not even the point of this post. The point is, we never actually know what we’re capable of until we learn to explore our possibilities. OUR possibilities. And I don’t mean based on what somebody else is up to. Unless that person is inspiring enough that they make you want to be as much of YOURSELF as you can possibly be. There’s a difference.

Double Oop.

See, loads of us have it focked up. We believe that success is being better than somebody else. Meanwhile, from my experience and from studying the greatest minds that I currently know exist, success is being better than the person you were a mere moment ago. Here is where the rubber meets the road. Here is where evolution is persistent. Here is where being a superhero becomes an actual thing.
I know some very well-meaning people who think they’re dope, based entirely on the concept that they’re not as whack as somebody else. *cough* They base their complacency on the idea that “most people are…( insert any whack way)” or “most people do…(insert any whack thing)” and because they may be higher minded to not do what’s common to “most people”, they’re like, *drops mic*. The problem with finding your complacency based on being better than somebody else’s perceived whackness, is you actually limit your own greatness. Steal sharpens steal. I mean, if you’re going to compete somewhere, wouldn’t it be doper to find complacency “against” the dopest people that ever lived? Do you really want to sharpen your sword with a potato? Never mind.
You’re not a dope father (or mother) because you’re better than the perceived bad ones. “welp, at least I’m not that dude…” You’re not a dope woman (or man) because “at least I ain’t ‘caint get right’ over there…” You don’t get to be a dope person because the litmus test is the somebody over there struggling in their humanness. You get to be dope when you are persistently challenging yourself to do what you thought was impossible. It’s different for everybody. For you it may be doing 10 push ups, running a marathon, losing 100 pounds or not complaining for 21 days. For somebody else it may be moving to a thriving environment, buying a home or going back to school. For somebody else still it may leaving an abusive relationship or traveling the world or even actually finding the cure for a global ill. Whatever it is, be it seemingly teeny or huge, dope is relative. And it’s also very personal. The idea is to persistently be better than we were before we knew better–which is (prayerfully) every flipping moment of every flipping day for the rest of our ever flipping lives. I mean, what else do you have to do whilst you still suck air? Be mediocre? Pfff. Chile Puh-leez. God ain’t make you for that. I mean. Anyway.
It’s time for us to reframe this notion that our good and great and greatness is found comparing ourselves to anything outside of us. And definitely not “against” a common element that ain’t doing so hot. You don’t get to drop your mic just cause you one frame above the firmament. WE ALL got to get this. So. There’s that.
Want to have ALL the answers?! Know thyself. Mastering yourself is actually mastering the universe. How you like them apples?
And after you get to know all the nooks and crannies of who you are and what you came to do, challenge it. See your limitations and raze (or raise, whichever) them joints with “what limitations?! I don’t see any in me.” You know what happens when you do that? You know what happens when each of us take 100% ownership of our lives? You know what happens when we each challenge each other to be our greatest best selves? WE ALL get great.  Greatness isn’t a destination. Greatness is a journey. If you think there is something you can’t do, do it anyway. And encourage those around you to do the seemingly impossible too. And I don’t mean talk about. I know some well-meaning King (and Queen) Talkshats who are doing exactly nada (or the very bare minimum) in the direction of their true potential. BE ABOUT IT. DO IT #YO.

Triple Oop. Plus a– Stop. It’s Hammer Time.

You’ll be surprised at what you can do when you decide you can. That’s that superhero ish that epic tales are written for. You have no idea what you are capable until you decide you are. Good Morning Gorgeous. Welcome to your awakening. Be ever wonderful, will you? See you at sunrise (or sunset, whatever turns you on). You were born light so you can leave your sun shades at home.

So True Boo.

So. That’s what I learned this week. I do hope it helps something. Thank you for reading this (!!!) Remember always to #RuleYoSelf with L.O.V.E. Have a Happy Awesome Weekend! Love you madly!
