Love
Love

Love

Love

Written in many languages

Timeless

Intangable

Widely accepted

And yet…

Somehow

Undefinable

Unmanagable

By even the brightest

Of human minds.

Maybe

It’s by design.

Maybe

It’s

That we

Think too much

Decide

That what

Can’t physically be

seen

Felt, touched

Is somehow

Not divinely

Meant to be defined

Or maybe

We’re all just lazy.

Maybe

We use our

Human-ness

As an excuse

Proof

That

There are limits

To what we can offer.

I think sometimes

We prefer it that way.

We say things like:

‘I love you’

And not mean it

In the literal sense

Our loving

Is more often than not

Past tense

Passed nonsense

We

Passing tenses

Trying to make sense of something

That can

Not make sense

To closed minds

And boarded up hearts

Fast brewing bodies

And mouths that never close

No peace in our silence

Not knowing

Through our brooding

And pathetic licenses to kill

That love is there

The somewhere

In between the lines

Its not black

Or white

Or any spectrum of color in between

It’s not poetry or prose

It’s not literature

Nor is there a literal translation

To the words of God’s speak.

Even the ancient Greeks

Had no idea

How to say

‘Love just is.’

No matter how you try to express it

Creatively

The truth falls short

It all gets lost in translation

Mostly because nobody

Speaks God’s language anymore.

Closed up minds

Boarded up hearts

Fast brewing bodies

And mouths that never close

No peace in our silence

Not knowing

Through our brooding

And pathetic lisences to kill

That love is there

The somewhere

In between the lines

Its not black

Or white

Or any spectrum of color in between.

It’s not poetry or prose

It’s not literature

Nor is there a literal translation

To the words of God’s speak

Even the ancient Greeks

Had no idea

How to say

‘Love just is.’

Trying to try

To define

The undefinable

We

Continue to fall short

By putting the concept of love

In the same

Box

We’re

Stuck

In.

Maybe we’re all

Just

Lazy.
