Happy Friday Night Love and Light to you! Welcome to another winning week of awesome!
What do you believe? Do you believe in magic? Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe you’re healthy, wealthy and wise? Do you believe you’re sickly, poor and dumb? Do you believe every one of your needs are met? Do you believe you aren’t enough; don’t have enough and will never be enough? What do you believe? What do you believe about yourself? What do you believe about the world? What do believe about why you exist right now in this moment? I believe that whatever you believe is true for you. I’ve learned that our beliefs are what powers our beliefs. Stay with me.
I promise, this isn’t going to turn into one of those airy fairy convos. I’m asking you because I had to ask myself all those questions earlier this week. I was talking to a dear friend about this whole set of drama (that at one point actually formed into an actual fuckery opera) like I have never experienced before in my life. Family stuff. I’d love to tell you all about it. I truly would, but alas, family stuff. It’s not even my opera. But somehow I got cast in the darned thing as a stage hand. In my opinion, if you’re going to be in a fuckery opera, the best fun has to be starring in it because keeping the production from getting out of hand is way NOT fun. Promise.
So. My life this past week can be summed up in five words and two stage directions. Drama, drama, drama, drama, drama. Takes bow, exits stage left. *Cough* So I’m talking to my dear friend, trying to make better sense of the situation than the nonsense it actually is. I’m trying to understand the mind waves of one of the stars of this particular production because their mind waves are way more different than mine. How can we live in the same exact world and have such totally opposite experiences?! We can both be in the exact same place (and have), watching the exact same things unfold and I’ll see all the love and good stuff and they’ll see every flaw and murder mystery unfolding. We can both be outside on a gorgeous summer day and I’ll see a gorgeous blue, blue sky with the sun peeking through the trees and this other person will see a storm brewing. Or a tick infestation waiting to happen.
The truth is, we’re both right. If I see a blue sky, it’s blue for me. If I think the sun is gorgeous through those trees–it is for me. On the other hand, a storm is always brewing–somewhere in the world. If there are trees, ticks can happen. If it does happen to rain, I can love the smell of it and want to dance in the rain because summer rain is great for shiny hair and glowing skin. Someone else can see a messed up hairdo and wet clothes. Perspective be damned, we’re both right.
What WE believe powers our beliefs. If you believe the rain is the devil–it is for you. If you believe it to be a gift from the Gods–it is for you. Our beliefs power our experiences and our feelings about those experiences–which tends to attract more similar experiences–which solidifies what we believe about those experiences. We have to believe in something to believe in anything AND what we believe already, manifests in our lives as experiences to further power our beliefs. It’s bigger than positive vs negative thinking. Or which deity you rock out for. Our very secular belief system is the very cipher of our lives. Mind. Blown. The good news? Our beliefs are our business. Which means we can change our minds at any time if we want to…
Which leads me back to my original question. What do you believe? Do you believe that life is for you, so no thing can be against you? Do you believe the universe itself is conspiring with all of nature to help you manifest every righteous desire of your heart? Do you believe that people are fundamentally good and kind and generous and loving? Do you believe that every experience (no matter how fuckery opera) has the potential for awesome? Or. Do you believe that life’s a bitch and then you die? Do you believe you are actually capable of anything you can conjure up in your brain space? Do you believe YOU can change the world, just by being uniquely YOU? I promise, whatever you believe is true for you. Your brain space is really that powerful. AND what you believe is and will always be your choice alone.
With that I’ll say, try not to judge others too harshly. Everybody doesn’t believe the way you do. Some people have been believing what they believe for a really loooooong time. It’s their business anyway. It’s not your job to change a single soul but yourself. But you can help nudge them along by being gorgeous and awesome and living the life of your ever loving life anyway… it gives others the courage to do the same.
So. That’s what I learned this week. I do hope it helps something. Thank you for reading this (!!!) Remember always to #RuleYoSelf with L.O.V.E. Have a Happy Awesome Weekend! Love you madly!
